Slept at close to 4am on Tuesday morning but still managed to wake up at 7:30am to take shower and go to school 8:30am for 4 classes!
Isn’t that amazing? With so little sleep but still wake up for class!
According to Lan, that is 0.05 % chance of happening!
Even more amazing is that Rose not only did not fall asleep in class but actually was paying full attention to the professors!

Q: So Lan, how’s life in Surrey so far?
Lan: Wonderful. My parents still in Taiwan. No school, no homework. AND MOST important I got a car to drive. 
Q: What have you been doing all these time?
L: Sleep + eat + play + bug my sister + being bullied by my sister
Q: What do you miss the most after coming back home?
L: Haha ~ bugging everyone in the house. Melissa’s wonderful cookies. I can’t sing anymore…. > <
Q: Why not?
L: My sister tells me to shut up!!!
Q: Why would she do that?
L: Because I start singing when i wake up… You know i have been having jet lag for quite a while
Q: No wonder = =
L: It’s not my fault…
Q: who’s fault is it ?
L: (looking at the ceiling) I don’t know?
Q: So what’s your plan for summer ? sleep whole day?
L: I would love to… > < but my mom is coming back… so i need to find a job
Q: What kind of job ???
L: Any job.. tomorrow i am going back to work in Mcdonald’s, but I am still going to apply for other jobs.
Q: How’s church in Surrey?
L: Good? There is still a lot of people, and there are more new people. Last Friday, I went to the home meeting, and they have a love feast that day. One of the new girl i met is going to baptize. I am sort of taking care of her. I feel like i am such a nice person !!!
Q: Why?
L: Because i told her beforehand that before she baptized, she needs to pray. So she better start thinking what she wants to pray.
Q: that’s called nice?
L: YEAH!!! No one told me when i got baptized. I was pretty shock at that time when they asked me to pray. I also told her on Sunday. They would call out her name and asked her to stand up and say something about being baptized.
Q: That’s so nice of you ? > <lll
L: I know i am nice!!!! how can Lan be mean?
Q: Did you go out somewhere in Surrey ?
L: I went to all the FUN places including beach, shopping center, going out with friends etc. I also went back to visit my old high school..
Q: So what was it like in your old high school? did you see your teachers?
A: It still look the same. Many class rooms, and a bunch of kids. I am so glad i don’t need to go there anymore > < I didn’t get to say hi to the teachers T T
Q: Why not?
L: All the nice teachers are gone. The only ones left are mean ones … I don’t even want to say hi to them… I just pretend i don’t know them and run away….
Q: Anything FUN happened while visiting?
L: well … While i was walking in the school hall way, everyone keeps starring at me. I did my hair that day. I was wearing my sunglasses When my sister saw me, she yelled ” jie ~” (older sister), all her friends mouth dropped.
Q: Why? O.o
L: i don’t know. And… let me finish my story..
Q: okay ~
L: And then i continue walking down the hall way … Someone came to me and screamed, “Tina, OH MY G** did you get a haircut ?”
Q: HAHAHA~
L: NOT FUNNY!!! gr………

After the 17 hrs flight, I got a sleep at my comfy bed from the old days. My second day in Taiwan is a Sunday. After the morning Lord’s Table, my parents and my cousin and a sister decide to go for a drink. It sounds wierd, eh? Going for a drink doesn’t sounds like what parents will suggest their children to do. Actually, it’s my cousin’s idea. Anyways, we went to this loung at the top floor of Elite, a famous chain bookstore like Chapters, at Taipei 101 area.
The place is called “The Library” and was a pretty decent, bright place for a little drink. You can meet some celebrities occationally. Since I didn’t know much about celebrities, I did not recognize the suppose-to-be celebrity beside our table. My cousin was the only one who ever had drinks before. So he took the responsibility of ordering drinks for the rest of us. He got me a “Long Island Ice Tea” because I was curious. Apparently, that’s the strongest of all cocktails, a mix of Vodka, Tequila, Rum, Gin and coke. If it is mixed well, it shouldn’t taste like alcohol.
Well, I don’t know if that “Long Island Ice Tea” is made well or not since all alcoholic beverage gives the alcohol taste in my point of view. So this cocktail, without exception, still gives the alcohol taste.
It turns out that my alcohol acceptance is not that great. I felt hot after just drinking about 3cm from this cup. On the contrary, my cousin took all the rest of the cocktails that the rest of us can’t finish. My mom seems to be pretty good at drinking alcohol too. Hmmm, I wonder where she get that from? LOL.
After the drink we went for dinner at the Thai buffet in the same building same floor. It was pretty good too.
There goes my second day in Taiwan. Eating, drinking and chatting.
Oh, yeah, by the way, my parents have all these weird things that suppose to improve your health, get rid of the toxic in side your body and stuff. And people walking on the street dress all fancy and have their hair nicely cut. Recent trend for guys seems to be the glasses with thick frame. I’ll see if I can get a picture of that in the future. But wouldn’t they sue me for abusing their right of portrait?
This morning when I woke up, I found I had amnesia, I couldn’t remember a thing from yesterday. I do remember going to the meeting, eating lunch but I do not remember the rest. I feel so puzzled. As I was chatting with Sister Ling, I said,
“So strange, I can’t remember anything from yesterday…”
“I think I had dinner, but I do not remember what I ate….”
Sister Ling: “Oh, you didn’t have dinner yesterday.”
Me: “What?”
Sister Ling: “I tried to call you for dinner several times but you didn’t wake up. So we ate first and left some on the table with a note. But until 9:30pm you still didn’t get up……”
So I tried to figure out what actually happened.
Then I’m SHOCKED.
Apparently, I start sleeping from the afternoon until this morning. I didn’t get up for dinner nor did I get up for washroom. I simply sleep through, meaning, I slept for more than 13 hrs.
I would not be so surprised if I slept late and wake up late. It is the fact that I turn an afternoon nap into a “sleep.” That has never happened to me before. Usually, if it’s an afternoon nap, I wake up by myself before 7pm. But not yesterday, it is those actual sleep. Which you do not wake up easily nor get up for washroom. Anyways, I feel like my time has been secretly cut short that the 4 hrs in the evening has been stolen from me.
Our long awaited meal at Thai Viet/Pan Thai/Viet Sun (sorry, I get really confused with Thai store names) finally came. After a long day of lecture and lab classes, I met up with Lan and Minna to head out to Melissa’s workplace (where the Thai place was located). Due to Lan’s ever-so-brilliant idea of taking the 7A bus, what was supposed to be a smooth and sailing bus ride to Uptown Waterloo turned into a watchout for an Indian eatery called Ali Baba. After much bewilderment ,we finally got ourselves safe and sound at our stop. We got off, headed to Melissa’s office AND got a tour of the place, and made our way to Thai…. something lol.
We actually spent the entire night in the kitchen, starting from dinner, to hymn-singing, and even cookie baking. Oh, and Starbucks in between!

Edelyn made meatloaf for dinner tonight - apparently Lan never had meatloaf before!
So Minna was singing “I’m just a lily” and it seems, Lan was making funny actions?! Pity I totally missed it 
Hymn: “When all around my sky is falling”
Marilyn came over to spend some time with us before she leaves for London, UK on Saturday. We ended up singing a lot and taking a bunch of photos.

First week at work, during lunch time……
Rose: Hey, let’s go get Starbucks after lunch. I saw two Starbucks around the building
Colleague: Ok
After lunch, they started walking toward Starbucks. To be exact, walked toward where Rose thought where the Starbucks was.
Colleague: You sure you saw Starbucks around here?
Rose: Yeah~ It must be at the next green light.
After awhile…..
Colleague: Let’s just get coffee at McDonald.
Rose: NO! McDonald doesn’t have good coffee.
Colleague: It’s so cold. Just get coffee wherever.
Rose: Oh, well. Then I’m not going to buy coffee anymore. I’ll just drink my instant coffee.
After this incident, Rose realized something: After living with the sisters and ran out at 10:50pm for Starbuck which closed at 11:00pm several times, she became stubborn about only getting starbuck. Once she made up her mind. No alternatives allowed.
We walk into Starbucks. We all get home and we all sit in front of the dining table.
Edelyn:What?!? I didn’t order this cookie. *mad face* I wanted the chocolate chip cookie! Lan, Minna, help me finish it.
Melissa to Edelyn: call them and say: “i hate you”
Minna: they probably can find out who called
Melissa: fine, then say: “i hate you for giving the wrong cookie”
Apparently while Lan is cooking her “Heart of the sea” with Korean pancake mix… suddenly the shrimp flies out of the pan. Quite the shrimp there Lan.
